I don’t know about you, but amidst the chaos and change secondary to novel coronavirus, I’m finding it more challenging to ensure I provide the same types of quality therapy and learning opportunities online via telepractice as I typically do via therapy in person. And as there is no definite end in sight relative to COVID-19, I think it is important to know at least some of the best free online tools, apps, and websites out there to help enhance the lives of adults.

This free HIPAA-compliant platform entitled TalkPath Therapy from Lingraphica provides interactive treatment opportunities related to speech, swallowing, language, cognition, oral-motor, and news via website and app.
TalkPath News from Lingraphica, which is also interconnected with TalkPath Therapy platform, provides opportunities to keep up with the news via compacted stories that also task readers’ comprehension and retention.
Aphasia Therapy Online provides opportunities to work on listening, reading, naming, and spelling.
Although Khan Academy strives to address the needs of school-age children, it also provides access to learning tools across subjects that may be beneficial for people of any age.
IXL strives to comprehensively address the learning needs of younger students, yet these education opportunities are also applicable to any person (no matter the age) relative to seeking self-improvement in areas of academic learning.
The Game Gal provides you with myriad options relative to games and activities at no cost including some games which are particularly beneficial relative to word finding and memory.
Neuroscience For Kids - Stroop Effect: Don’t be fooled by the title of this website from Washington University in St. Louis. The speed of processing tasks here are beneficial for adults, too.

Why do these resources matter? I want people to know that there are resources out there at no cost that may be helpful relative to working on and improving cognitive-communications skills. It’s important to engage regularly in cognitively stimulating activities. So, if you have read this far, I encourage you to pick at least one of these resources recommended and give it a try.
